Managing Interpersonal Conflicts of Interest
- Disengage from supervisor-supervisee relationship
- Avoid sharing funds or control over allocation of funds (not on same grant)
- Delegate decision-making – draw up guidelines or observe by-laws for process of administrative or executive decision-making, such as consensus-building, abiding by committee votes, or other participatory or legislative process
- Avoid traveling together, or other public appearances (one-on-one lunches, etc.)
- Avoid appearance of voting “bloc” or private agreement or shared agenda on committees
- Avoid public displays of affection
